Paul Hanson 3rd Dan

Background

Paul started training in Shotokan karate at the age of 7 at Langholm Shotokan Karate Club under Sensei Philip Gunn. During this time he gained an excellent learning and understanding of the foundations of karate which he continues to use to this day.

In 2007 Paul moved to Glasgow and trained in Shukokai karate at Kugatsu Karate-Do. From here his karate progressed even further under the watchful eye of Sensei Graham McCann. In 2014, Paul was awarded his 2nd Dan by Sensei McCann (Karate-Kai Scotland).

Paul has been a member of Edinburgh Karate academy since early 2014, where he trains hard and helps to assist Sensei Angus Rutherford to develop the clubs’ students.

Throughout the years Paul has attended numerous courses with world renowned instructors including Jonathan Mottram, Allan Miller, Junior Lefevre, William Coyle, Keiji Tomiyama, Kunio Miyake and Keinosuke Enoeda

Coach Level 2 - (Scottish Karate Governing Body)

Instructor License A - (Shukokai International)
